No more chronicles for Heavy Rain says creator, blames Playstation Move.

Not for your DLC

This makes me a sad panda…

So in an interview, David Cage; Writer and director of the studio Quantic Dream, told Euro gamer that he didn’t think there would be anymore DLC for the excellent game Heavy Rain, since the studio will be too busy A. converting the current game to feature Playstation Move ™ support, and B. Working on the studio’s next project. What is really sad about this is the fact that supposedly Heavy Rain had three or four scripts for more downloadable content completed, on top of the fact it was an already completed game, meaning they really only had to render everything, and do some custom mo. cap, and hire more almost americanish sounding actors. While the announcement doesn’t mean we won’t get the DLC it just means it’s far less likely, which is frankly depressing.

I don’t see why they are adapting Heavy Rain for the move in the first place, it’s honestly a sideways step from where they are now, and no Playstation owner past, present or future will probably be without a standard controller, making the development frankly pointless, for anything other than advertising. This is really one of the sadder stories to come out of the motion control wars looming in the future, I loved Heavy Rain, and to not have more of it is disappointing.

Oh for any gamers out there who liked Heavy Rain and would like more of it, go out and hunt down a copy of Indigo Prophecy on the PS2, original Xbox, or Xbox live! It’s a great game in a very similar style, and while not as good as H.Rain, it can be a little frustrating at times, it’s still incredibly enjoyable. I bought it twice myself.
